Editorial policy
Western Story House aims to make place-based writing clear, careful and worth returning to. We explain what a reader can observe, distinguish it from interpretation and correct the record when something is wrong.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against suitable material available to us and take care with names, dates and descriptions. A scene may invite interpretation, but we do not present a plausible reading as established fact. Where the evidence is incomplete or a claim is uncertain, the wording should say so.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made for reader value, not as a promise of favourable coverage. Sponsored or partner material is identified clearly as such, and partnerships do not guarantee inclusion in independent editorial coverage. We do not imply that a placement is an editorial recommendation.
Corrections
If you believe a piece contains an error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, update the text in a clear and proportionate way.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be AI-generated. Illustrations are not evidence of a real place or event, and we aim to avoid presenting a generated image as documentary photography.
